Animator Career

An animator is an artist who takes an idea and brings it to life using a series of drawings, either life-like or in a cartoon style, in order to communicate a message or tell a story.  Animators are highly creative and skilled at drawing, as well as the use of computer technology used in the animation process.  If you are considering becoming an animator, the information here can help you decide whether this is the career choice for you.

Traits needed for Animators:
Animators should be able to work closely with others and have excellent communication skills, as animated films are often designed by a creative team.   Animators should be able to visualize an idea and create drawings that will bring it to life; they also need to be flexible, as most animation projects undergo numerous revisions before completion.
